Welcome to Huet's Consulting

At Huet's Consulting, based in Hebron, Nova Scotia, we specialize in crafting comprehensive Gladue reports that cater to the unique circumstances of Indigenous individuals within the justice system. Our dedication to detail and empathy ensures that each report highlights the individual's background, contributing to fairer sentencing.

The Gladue case (also known as R. v. Gladue) is a landmark Supreme Court of Canada decision, handed down on 23 April 1999, which advises that lower courts should consider an Indigenous offender’s background and make sentencing decisions accordingly, based on section 718.2 (e) of the Criminal Code.

Gladue Report Writing Services:

As a trauma informed interviewer and writer, I extend my services to you and your Indigenous clients, offering comprehensive Gladue Reports.

I prepare Gladue Reports for:

  1. Sentencing Hearings
  2. Bail Hearings
  3. Bail Review Hearings
  4. Parole Board Hearings
  5. NCR Hearings
  6. DO Hearings

I prepare Gladue reports that explore the systemic background factors and cultural connections unique to Indigenous accused persons, aiding the court in crafting a fitting sentence by conducting individualized assessments of presented Gladue factors.

Additionally, I address suitable Indigenous-focused treatment and rehabilitation options to address the underlying causes of your client’s offence cycle.

I am able to present reports in either chronological order or organized by Gladue factors, according to your preference.

My expertise as a trained professional writer enables me to research historical information about the individual and their community. Clients identifying as First Nations, Métis, Inuit, or First Nations (non-Status) qualify for a report. I prioritize the reliability of Gladue Reports by ensuring corroboration through a series of questions aimed at validating Indigenous identity, drawing from documented information, family tree data, genealogical records, Treaty Paylists, Métis Scrip information, Band Member Enrolment Lists, oral history, and collateral interviews with family members.

Education and Training:

I am certified with the Trauma Institute & Child Trauma Institute in Massachusetts under Dr. Ricky Greenwald's guidance. With extensive experience working with youth and adults in the justice system, I possess the requisite skills to engage with individuals who have undergone significant trauma or loss.

Notably, I've provided specialized training to the BC First Nations Justice Council's Gladue team and contributed to their training materials.

My educational background in criminal and social justice, coupled with years of experience across various sectors of the justice system since 2012, underscores my ability to deliver impactful outcomes.

Having recently relocated to Nova Scotia, I am eager to offer my expertise and knowledge in this region.
